9-10:30 AM Ballet with Sarah Swift

Ballet: A thorough Ballet class taught with insights into pedagogy for healthy, inclusive ballet

training for children and adults. Level will be Intermediate.

10:30-11:30 AM Tap warm-ups, progressions and phrasing with Isla Niezgoda

11:30-12:30 AM Modern for Adult Beginners with Sarah Swift

Contemporary Modern Dance - FLOW: This class combines aspects of technical dance training

with somatic practice and improvisation, giving the adult student a balance of structure and

freedom in which to have a deep physical experience in accordance with their own abilities. This

is an all-levels class.

12:30-1:15 PM Business Meeting - Members Only

1:15-2:15 PM Contemporary

Angela's Contemporary Dance class offers a full-body warm up based on a blend of release

technique, bartenieff fundamentals, and Limon influences. We will focus on our use of weight,

breath, and gravity in both standing and floor-based sequences. Class concludes with a dynamic

choreography phrase that combines sharp, idiosyncratic gestures with fluid, loopy movements

2:15-3:15 PM Modern Technique with Angela Cole

Angela's Modern Dance class consists of technical exercises and choreography based on Horton,

Limon, and Cunninham techniques. Class begins with a series of warm-up sequences and

progresses to traveling movement patterns that emphasi

Angela Cole

Angela is a dance artist, choreographer, and teacher based in Providence, RI. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Roger Williams University, where she was the recipient of the Kelli Wicke Davis Outstanding Achievement in Dance Award. Upon graduating, Angela was a Young Artist in Residence at Bearnstow, Maine, and then went on to perform as a freelance artist while teaching dance and fitness classes. Angela has danced for Natalie Johnson Dance in Cambridge, MA, and co-founded ProviDANCE Project, a contemporary dance collaborative with her artistic partner, Ellen Oliver. Angela is currently a company member at Providence Ballet Theatre, and also teaches dance throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. When not dancing and teaching, Angela is busy creating content and resources for dancers and teachers through her Instagram, @fulltimedanceteacher.

Isla Niezgoda

Isla Niezgoda grew up dancing in Minneapolis where she trained in many styles of dance with a focus on rhythm tap. She joined Keane Sense of Rhythm Youth Tap Ensemble in 2004 and was a founding member of the Keane Sense of Rhythm Y oung Professional Company. Since then, Isla has earned her Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Hearing Sciences and Spanish Studies as well as a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Isla has had the opportunity to study tap dance under Lane Alexander, Jason Samuels Smith, Jason Janas, Dianne “Lady Di” Walker, Sam Weber, Sarah Reich and many more masters at festivals around the country. She has performed around the United States as well as abroad and has been teaching both competition and recreational tap dance since 2010 at dance studios in Minnesota, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Additionally, Isla has instructed tap dance at the collegiate level at Emerson College and co-founded Fourth Dimension Tap Company, a non-profit with the mission of creating new works, engaging audiences, and extending the reach of tap dance to the community at large. Isla currently teaches tap dance at Joanne Langione Dance Center in Newton, Massachusetts to students aged 5 through 18.

Sarah Swift

Sarah Slifer Swift is the Director and head teacher of Movement Arts Gloucester MA (MAGMA), established in 2017. Prior to opening MAGMA she taught at Boston Conservatory, Boston Ballet, Salem State, Liza Indiciani Studio, and George Washington University, and in Europe at the Amsterdam College of Art and Scotland's National Center for Dance. Her performing career took her to stages in 8 countries, from the Kennedy Center in DC to festival stages in Korea and Brazil. She has received a Massachusetts Cultural Council Choreography Fellowship, as well as several other awards and grants for her artistic and community work.
