2023 ~ November Faculty Bio’s
Matt Lopez – Hip Hop
Matt Lopez first started dancing at the age of 10, performing for a Filipino dance troupe in New Hampshire. He attended Northeastern University in Boston majoring in theatre and later transferred to the University of Central Florida. While in Florida, Matt performed at Walt Disney World and had the opportunity to perform with Hillary Duff in the Christmas Day Parade televised on ABC.
Upon graduating from Central Florida, Matt landed a job as the mascot for the New England Patriots. In the spring of 2010, he was featured in the Go-Go Segment on "Live with Regis and Kelly." His other notable past stage/television performances include dancing for Sean Kingston and Wyclef Jean on a kids programming show on PBS, as well as for Demi Lovato on ABC's "Good Morning America."
Matt now lives in both Hawaii and New York City where he is dancing and choreographing. In April 2012, Lopez was the audition facilitator for a Nicki Minaj performance and chosen as a lead dancer in Times Square for the debut of her album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded." Matt is a choreographer for the cheerleaders of the six-time Super Bowl Champions, the New England Patriots. He has also choreographed for the pre-game performance at Madison Square Garden for the New York Knicks and for R&B/Pop artist, Sid Haywoode, whose song, "No Excuses" was #6 on Europe's dance hit chart.
Lopez has taught hip-hop/funk master classes across the United States and abroad in the Philippines, Japan, Colombia, Barbados, Israel, Canada and the United Kingdom. In 2015, he was selected as one of the Top 12 Dance Convention Teachers in the U.S. by Dance Informa Magazine. Lopez currently teaches for group services at Broadway Dance Center and is teaching hip-hop and street jazz on faculty at Steps on Broadway, Sarah Lawrence College, Dalton School, NY Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, NY Film Academy, Wagner College and the University of Hawaii.
Eddie Hoyt - Tap
Eddie Hoyt from Boscawen New Hampshire has been traveling and teaching all over the US for the past 10 years. He has studied all genres of dance but considers Tap his main craft and specialty. He has an electric personality which lights up every room he teaches in. His passion for teaching the art form and performing are equally important to sharing the history and love for dance. Eddie is nationally recognized for his TV appearances on the widely acclaimed So You Think You Can Dance. As a competitor on SYTYCD, Eddie was honored to be amongst the top 10 finalists. He also performed with the SYTYCD Season 16 tour, and appeared on talk shows such as ELLEN. Hoyt has studied under tap professionals such as Sarah Reich, Jason Bernard, Aaron Tolson, Sue Harrington, and many more. Eddie Is very excited to be working with The Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston for the first year and can't wait to see all the excitement and talent hit the floor.
Tara Iacobucci - Ballet
Beginning her studies at a young age in all genres of dance, Tara later transitioned into performing a variety of ballets with Ballet RI. Fast forward, Tara became the director of the award-winning dance companies at The Talent Factory in Rhode Island, where many of her students have gone on to accept prestigious scholarships at such places as Marymount Manhattan College, Montclair State University, Elon University, PACE University, as well as professional schooling and companies overseas! She has since continued to be on staff as a choreographer and instructor with The Talent Factory, while also traveling often to share her love of this art around the country. Her choreography was chosen to be a part of the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival during its inaugural year, and she premiered work at the Joyce Theater in NYC. In 2019, Tara had the pleasure of visiting Joffrey Ballet’s Jazz & Contemporary Pre-Professional Training Program in New York City to hold her own audition and cast dancers for a piece she choreographed for their end of the season spring show. Tara was thrilled to get the opportunity to expand her knowledge within the industry when taking on, and participating in, a few film projects. The most recent film project was with close friend and inspiration, Andy Pellick, that was aciously promoted by Dance Teacher Magazine. Tara strives to emphasize the importance of never feeling complacent and always remaining a student. Most recently, Tara has taken the role of an Adjunct Instructor of Dance at Dean College in the Fall of 2021. Feel free to check out more about Tara at ww.taramariechoreography.com

Maribeth Crupi, PT – Injury Prevention (Teachers Only)
Maribeth Crupi, PT established a private practice in 2007 with a specialty focus onthe care of dancers of all levels. As the mother of a multidisciplinary dancer, she has been immersed the dance world for over 28 years. Maribeth has pursued specialized training and experiences to hone her dance medicine skills. She is an active member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science(IADMS) and has presented at their annual symposiums. Maribeth has participated in many years of peer review with the physical therapists at Boston Ballet, as assisted with their pre-season screenings and backstage care, and her practice was an adjunct clinic for company members requiring additional off-site treatment. She conducts numerous workshops and lectures annually to promote best care and dancer wellness. Maribeth’s physical therapy background includes extensive training in Maitland Technique, Mulligan Technique, Myofascial Release, Graston Technique, Dry Needling, Cupping, Kinesiololgy and other taping strategies, musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging, and APPI (Australian Physiotherapy Institute) Pilates Mat, Reformer, and multiple population-specific modules. Maribeth is a contributing author to Prevention of Injuries in the Young Dancer (Ruth and John Solomon and Lyle Micheli, MD, editors, 2017). Following the sale of her physical therapy practice in 2022, Maribeth is now devoting her time to limited solo practice and continuing to share her wealth of knowledge to the dance community and allied
health professionals through lectures, workshops, and dancer screenings.
